Walking in the footsteps of the seven founding Sisters
PORT MELBOURNE TO PRESENTATION COLLEGE WINDSOR (6 KM)
The Chapter “From the ends of the earth” 1873-1901 from Kathleen Dunlop Kane’s book called Adventure in Faith, the Presentation Sisters in Victoria, will provide further and more detailed information about the Sisters early days and experiences.
STAGE ONE:
Begin at Beach Street Port Melbourne Rotunda
The Presentation Sisters arrived on the Great Britain, the first large iron ship, launched at Bristol in 1843.
It was the first ocean-going propeller driven vessel.
Arrived at Sandridge (Port Melbourne) on Sunday 21st December 1873.
They were met at the ship by Father Corbett and travelled by carriage to St Kilda.

Walk moves from Band Rotunda to Catani Gardens and to St Mary’s Church grounds and the Church itself.
